This unique skirt is made of several different qualities of home-spun cotton fabrics. The front consists of a waistband, a brown-green panel and an indigo-dyed panel that has been calendered by treating with egg white, to make the fabric stiff and glossy. The bottom's white and blue panel is indigo batik. The back is lined with a coarse indigo-dyed cotton fabric. Because the fabric is treated and pleated, it is difficult to measure how long the fabric lengths are. However, traditional skirts from the region usually consist of panels that are between five to six meters.
