This long shirt from the from the turn of the last century, a common characteristic French design. The front is shorter than the back, and in this case it is made of both flax and hemp, homegrown and handspun yarns. The fabrics have been sewn together with machine stitches. The collar and the shoulder stripe are, however, made of cotton. The main fabric has been woven from a finer flax fabric (13-14 x 17 th/cm), while the back part, the gussets at the sleeves, and the cuffs are made of a more rustic hemp fabric in balanced plain weave (11 th/cm). Usually, such shirts were not dyed, but this has been dyed blue in its entirety much later.
