This is a characteristic bedspread in ancient Romania as well as in many other cultures, with a hand-crochet lace sewn along one long side. The fabric is made in a nice dense quality, hand-woven and hand-sewn. The warp yarn is of cotton and the weft yarn is a of home-grown and home-spun hemp, a balanced twill (13 th/cm). The colored weft stripes are of cotton yarns. The bedspread has been hand-sewn together from three weaving widths.
