This colorful scroll, painted on a strip of home-grown and home-spun hemp, blended with the vild growing "Fireweed" (Gerbera delavayi), every fifth weft thread. Finely woven in a density of 13 x 11 th/cm.
 
The scroll was used by the Naxi ethnic minority shamans of Lijiang county in Yunnan province China during funeral ceremonies. It depicts the Tibetan Buddhist road from the torments of hell through life to eventual enlightenment. Learn more from Robert C.
