The fabric in this skirt is made of home-grown hemp, home-spliced and home-woven in tabby. The two upp panels are dense and fine (13 x 13 th/cm), the down panel is is more loosely woven (8 x 5 th/cm) The skirt has been sewn together by hand. All three panels are indigo dyed, and the middle panels is in batik, but all are heavy pleated. The applique is made of comercial cotton fabrics, and the needlework of syntetic yarns. The waist holds together with a simple ribbon, also of hemp. The skirt contains several meters hemp fabric.
