This rustic bedspread is made of home-grown hemp, hand-spunded and woven in tabby (approx. 10 x 10 th/cm), but every 8th thread with a coarser weft yarn, and thus acquires a special structure. The strong gray-brown unbleached color is likely due to the hemp having been field-retted. Two weaving widths have been sewn together by hand to create this nice, firm and stable bedspread.
