The nettles have been traditionally collected in the Himalayan Mountains and manually processed and hand-spun into yarn, and woven into a fine and strong fabric (10 x 7 th/cm). The now worn weave pattern is of dyed wool yarn, and the weaving technique is called trima a sophisticated technique resambling embrodery, characteristic of the region. Three narrow cloth strips about 0.4 m wide have been hand-sewn together to form a larger piece, then provided with two braided ropes in opposite corners so that they can be tied together and used to carry things on either a person's back or on a horse.
