White embroidery on hemp fabric

Is this vintage embroidery familiar? In recent years we can suddenly see it on fashion clothes or other textiles and it appeals to us again. The fashion industry often takes various patterns and transforms them into something new, but as a rule they have been taken from traditional cultures and not so rarely from Eastern European ones. White embroideries like this one originated in the border region of Hungary / Romania and often adorned tablecloths, and this particular fabric is made of hemp. Since households in the region cultivated household-hemp right up until the end of the 20th century, the textiles are also well preserved.
